Outlet Fitting

Also referred to as Outlet Tee or Outlet Baffle. A device that allows wastewater to exit the septic tank while retaining scum in the tank. An outlet tee is typically a PVC or metal tee-shaped pipe. The top part of the tee extends above the level of the scum, while the bottom part extends into the effluent layer, thereby ensuring minimal disturbance of the settling process and avoidance of carry-over of buoyant wastes. The outlet tee is usually several inches below the level of the inlet tee. <
