Settleable Solids

Solids that will settle out in a prescribed period of time when a sample of wastewater is allowed to stand undisturbed. The septic tank facilitates the separating out of settleable solids from liquid wastewater. The layer of settleable solids that forms at the bottom of the septic tank is called sludge. <
