Settling

Also referred to as Sedimentation. The process that occurs in the septic tank, through which solid materials separate out from liquid effluent. Settling takes place when the velocity of liquid is below the point at which it can transport suspended material; hence the need to ensure wastewater in the septic tank remains as undisturbed as possible. <
