Water Quality

The physical, biological and chemical properties of the water that determine its suitability for human use and, or, for its role in the Hydrologic Cycle. In wastewater treatment, water quality measurements indicate the performance of the treatment system. The measurements that are most important for this purpose include Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS). High values for either measure indicate poorly treated wastewater which can degrade the quality of the receiving environment. <
